Award Criteria

Architectural Excellence

It is an eco-friendly Public Mobile Library that brings resources outside of the library’s fixed location to users who otherwise may not get a chance to benefit from them. It also effectively extends the reach of the library’s safe learning and social development areas. Being able to offer library services and experience within a larger area is extremely beneficial for library users and also a great way to activate library non-users.

Technical Innovation & Sustainability

Public Mobile Library can be easily disassembled and moved to new locations, includes a number of sustainable features, such as solar power and integrated rainwater collection systems. The resulting project combines solar panels, passive solar strategies and a highly insulating envelope to achieve its energy-plus goals. The house is built almost entirely in wood, pushing the structural capacities of this natural and sustainable material to its limits.

Cost Effectiveness

Public Mobile Library is designed using the prefabrication system that minimizes construction costs as well as waste.
