Architectural Excellence

The RI Group Mobile Surgery Unit is an operating room class ISO 5 and it consists of 2 areas. Surgery Room: composed by three (3) ISO’ 20 1C shelters coupled with three (3) 20’ 1CX shelters positioned on the top. The additional 1CX shelters serve the entire plant, supporting the operating room in order to preserve the internal operating area. HVAC Room: composed by one ISO’ 20 1C shelter with one 1CX shelter on the top, it is linked to the surgery room and equipped with all the installations for air treatment and heat/cold system. The unit is self-leveling and intermodal transportable.

Technical Innovation & Sustainability

Mobile Surgery Units are designed to provide on-site surgical service. This solution is characterized by integrated power, lighting, heating, ventilation (99% HEPA filtration), air conditioning, plumbing, medical gas/vacuum and external communications systems. The aeraulic air conditioning system provides an air quality complying with at least UNI EN ISO 14644, Microclimatic class VCCC ISO 5 at least, complete with laminar flow filtering device installed at the ceiling at an indicative height of 3 m from the floor. This air conditioning system operates with external temperatures ranging from -20°C to +45°C. The surfaces of stainless steel internal walls are microscopically flat and free of pores, resistant to living organisms, chemical substances and most common hospital detergents and disinfectants. Mobile Surgery Solution is transportable by train, cargo ship, and airplane. This Unit could be stand alone or be connected to mobile camp hospitals or civil ones.

Cost Effectiveness

Mobile Surgery Unit puts the patient at the center, reducing risk and delays, improving patient safety and furthermore reducing the Healthcare System costs. It provides a temporary solution for existing medical facilities while renovating operating rooms, and also to provide additional operating room capacity when in high demand. The installation and deinstallation of the unit is possible with simple operations, in a maximum time of 2 hours with a team of 6 installers, by a crane support. Mobile Surgery Unit is a solution suitable to support disaster readiness applications and international humanitarian missions.
