Architectural Excellence
The Coca-Cola BoomBox is a giant, solar-powered boombox that transforms into an interactive marketing experience at each location it stops. The unit is 100% solar-powered with a battery bank that can last up to 3 days on a single charge. Key features include: an interactive DJ experience, sound-activated LEDs, photo/selfie room, surround sound speakers, rooftop deck, and a 30-minute set-up/tear-down time. Interchangeable graphics allow the Coca-Cola team to “reskin” the unit for all of its brands and customize the unit for special events. The BoomBox has made stops at over 100 events, including the MLB All-Star Game, NFL, NBA & NCAA games, PGA Tour stops, and numerous music festivals/concerts. The unit can be towed by a pickup and only requires a team of 3 to 4 people to successfully tour around the country. The BoomBox is the quintessential immersive experiential marketing asset that is sure to be the focal point wherever it goes, and since it's fully solar-powered it can go anywhere!
Technical Innovation & Sustainability
The client gave us a very quick timeline of under 60 days, a tight budget, and the design direction of “music” to create an experiential marketing activation/building. The unit is 100% solar-powered, giving the client total flexibility and freedom for where they can activate this marketing asset. Innovative Design: The unit is able to unfold like a transformer at each location it stops and then fold back up for transport. Interchangeable graphics allow the Coca-Cola team to “reskin” the unit for all of its brands Coca-Cola, Fanta, Smartwater, Sprite, Powerade, etc. and customize the unit for special events. Giant light-up boombox speaker facade and a light up equalizer that both react to the beat of the music. Coca-Cola created an entire marketing campaign dubbed the “Summer of Music” with the BoomBox as the focal point, 12-pack cans in a boombox themed package that were sold throughout the US, and a west coast tour with over 100 stops and continues to this day.
Cost Effectiveness
Designed + built + delivered in under 2 months. Interchangeable “skins” allow the client to spread the cost of the marketing asset across multiple brands Coca-Cola, Coke Zero, Fanta, Smartwater, Sprite, etc. $0 run cost (no generator required). This asset has been used at over 100 events, giving the client a cost/activation of nearly zero versus their typical spend of tens of thousands of dollars per event with more traditional marketing assets The unit is easily and cheaply relocatable, as it only requires a small team and a pickup to successfully tour the unit is still on tour and has an extremely long lifespan, allowing the Coca-Cola team to reuse the unit for years to come, next stop is the Super Bowl!
