|MBI Town Hall Meeting
MBI is hosting a series of half-day regional meetings throughout North America. These town-hall-style meetings give MBI members an opportunity to discuss issues of local importance. MBI staff are also on-hand to provide state-of-the-industry reporting as well as updates on pending government affairs, research projects, association resources, and more.
MBI is pleased to announce the addition of a factory tour to our Pennsylvania Town Hall agenda. On August 30th in Harrisburg, we will meet with Mark Conte, Housing Standards Division Chief at the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development to discuss "Act 13" regulations, due out for public comment any day now. Act 13 amends the state's Industrialized Housing Act to include commercial modular buildings. Don't miss this important question and answer session with Mr. Conte where you can help shape and finalize several years worth of planning the Pennsylvania modular building program. Afterwards, a bus will take participants north to tour Excel, an MBI member manufacturer of commercial and residential buildings with a 200,000-square-foot facility in Liverpool. Excel recently built "The Modules," a four-story, 72-unit student housing project near Temple University and one of the largest modularly-constructed LEED for Homes projects in the US.
