MBI Goes Green: Michelle Kaufmann to be Keynote Speaker at the 2006 MBI Green Building Conference in Portland, OR

MBI's calendar of events just got a whole lot greener. Our latest industry offering? A 2006 Green Building Conference dedicated to commercial modular construction. The September 14th & 15th meeting will be held at the Embassy Suites Downtown in Portland, OR. High-profile speakers include keynoter and architect Michelle Kaufmann. Kaufmann designed earth-friendly Glidehouse, a green modular home with commercial applications that repeatedly make headlines coast-to-coast. First Lady Laura Bush, for example, just toured a Glidehouse replica on display at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC. Kaufmann was a student of Michael Graves at Princeton and worked for Frank Gehry in Los Angeles before opening her own office. What does this impressive designer think of modular construction? Check out "Why Modular?" on her website to find out.
