MBI Member Amy Marks of Xsite Modular to present at PrefabNZ’s CoLab 2015
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The Modular Building Institute is pleased to announce an international speaking tour by member and modular consultant Amy Marks. Amy Marks, president of XSite Modular, and member of the MBI Public Relations Committee has been engaged by PrefabNZ, an MBI Alliance Partner, as a keynote speaker for their PrefabNZ CoLab 2015 from April 22-24, 2015 in Wellington, New Zealand.
At the conference, Amy will also be leading a Design for Manufacturing (DfMA) workshop. The focus of PrefabNZ CoLab is collaboration and “mixing-it-up” to enable opportunities to forge new business relationships and find co-collaborators towards better prebuilt design and construction. In 2014, PrefabNZ signed an international alliance agreement with the Modular Building Institute, recognizing the need to work together to promote and protect the modular building industry globally. MBI also has alliance agreements with other industry associations in Australia and the United Kingdom.
In addition, newly appointed prefabAUS CEO, Warren McGregor, has invited Amy Marks to lead a series of presentations across Australia including Sydney on April 13th, Adelaide on April 17th, and other dates in Brisbane and Melbourne to be announced. Australia’s offsite construction industry currently supplies three percent of all housing but is expected to account for 10 to 15 percent by 2023, according to prefabAUS.
As the Voice of Commercial Modular Construction™, it is MBI's mission to expand the use of offsite construction through innovative construction practices, outreach, and education to the construction community and customers, and through recognition of high quality modular designs and facilities. MBI is proud to support its members doing the same across the globe.
