Modular Building Institute to Provide Timely Training for Construction Professionals
The Modular Building Institute, the international trade association serving modular construction, will offer two valuable educational courses for construction industry professionals at its Modular Construction University event, September 27-28 in Philadelphia, Pa. The training comes at a critical time because modular building is becoming more widely recognized as a greener, faster and more cost-efficient method of construction.
“Essentials of Modular Construction,” approved for six hours of American Institute of Architecture continuing education credit, will cover the topics of professional selling, project delivery, teamwork, key players, design considerations, building materials, site considerations, installation methods and more. The class is designed for sales professionals, materials suppliers, branch and project managers, manufacturers, subcontractors, set and finish crews, estimators, architects and engineers, suppliers, developers and quality-control staff.
The second course, “Building Strong Project Management Skills,” will help project managers, field supervisors, company owners, managers, sales professionals and materials suppliers to improve project management skills and ultimately increase company productivity and profitability. This track provides 12 continuing education credits from the Project Management Institute.
Co-located with the Association of College Schools of Architecture Fall Conference, “Offsite: Theory and Practice of Architectural Production,” MBI’s event will give industry members the opportunity to network with architects and professors interested in learning more about modular construction. With a paid registration at either the MBI or the ACSA event, participants may attend sessions held by either organization free of charge.
The Modular Building Institute (MBI) is the international non-profit trade association serving modular construction. Members include providers of code compliant relocatable buildings, as well as permanent modular construction contractors and suppliers. As the Voice of Commercial Modular Construction (TM), it is MBI’s mission to expand the use of offsite construction through innovative construction practices, outreach and education to the construction community and customers, and recognition of high quality modular designs and facilities.
