MBI Donates to the International Code Council Foundation
Code of Honor Scholarship Program

Charlottesville, VA - The Modular Building Institute (MBI) was recognized today by The International Code Council Foundation (ICCF) for its donation to the Foundation’s Code of Honor Scholarship Program.

“Thanks to the generous support of the Modular Building Institute, building professionals will continue to receive quality professional development that leads to improved public safety,” International Code Council CEO and ICC Foundation Chairman Rick Weiland said.

“We see the modular construction industry playing a larger role in commercial construction development over the next few years,” Tom Hardiman, Executive Director of the Modular Building Institute said. “Given some of the unique characteristics of off-site construction, we feel it is imperative for ICC’s voting representatives to have the opportunity to attend the final action hearings and participate in the debate. We are proud to do our part to help make that happen.”

The goal of the Code of Honor Scholarship Program is to ensure that the I-Codes continue to reflect the consensus view of officials at all levels of government by providing funding to Governmental Member Voting Representatives seeking to attend Final Action Hearings. In 2010, the Foundation awarded 68 individuals with scholarships to attend the Dallas and Charlotte Final Action Hearings. Scholars represented 27 states and the Cayman Islands.
