Modular Building Institute increases commitment
to industry through announcement of World of Modular
The MBI annual convention--renamed World of Modular--adds programs and networking events that provide expanded opportunities for the continued growth of the commercial modular construction industry

Charlottesville, VA - Today the Modular Building Institute (MBI) announced that it is renaming its annual convention and tradeshow to World of Modular. The annual meeting, tradeshow and networking event will now be the branded, singular forum for the commercial modular construction industry. World of Modular seeks to provide educational opportunities, gather industry leaders for information-sharing, and foster industry member connections. The convention will promote the overall strength and viability of the non-residential, modular construction market.

The MBI was founded in 1984 and is the only international, non-profit trade association representing commercial modular construction providers. MBI started its quarter-century of service by hosting an annual gathering of members. The first annual convention was in 1984, and 25 years later the gathering has become the premiere event of the industry, boasting a record crowd of 500+ attendees, a trade show, training sessions
, networking events, and an industry-wide awards program.

This year
's World of Modular will be held March 28-31, 2009 at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. It features Keynote Speaker Ross Shafer, three separate training tracks, nine breakout sessions, a trade show, and an awards banquet. For a complete schedule and other show details visit modular.org.

"Because the event has become an icon for the industry, MBI decided it was time to rename the show to better communicate its mission
" said Tom Hardiman, MBI's executive director. "World of Modular will be a forum open to any entity interested in the industry of non-residential, modular construction. With the growing interest in modular due to its budget-friendly and eco-friendly features, we expect attendance from outside industries and new businesses to grow at an even greater pace over the next few years."
